We hear a lot about the bad conditions that factory farmed animals are kept in, and of course there are still many animals in conditions that could be drastically improved.
But under the general theme of ‘bad but better’, look at the progress that’s been made with cage-free hens in the US, increasing from almost a standing start in 2008 to over 35%.
I particularly like this graph because it’s such a recent success - a lot of the graphs I’ll share here will look at successes over the last 30-60 years, but this one really has seen great strides recently, almost doubling in the last 5 years.
