In our previous post we saw how battle deaths had declined (although not in a smooth way) in recent decades. The same is true of deaths by genocide - those who remember the recent past through rose tinted spectacles may be forgetting the mass killings in Indonesia, China, Bangladesh, Sudan, Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda and more. As always, any number greater than 0 is a travesty here, but the recent trend of very low numbers since 2005 is still very welcome.
